Facebook's Josh Miller wants everybody to know he is not making a clone of Whisper or Secret, apps that have become popular recently with teens and Silicon Valley gossipers by letting people share messages anonymously. Miller was named by the New York Times Tuesday — citing "two people briefed on Facebook’s plan" — as the head of a new stand-alone app that will let people communicate without having to share their name. The news came a week after Facebook changed its privacy policy after being criticized for telling drag queens to use their legal names online. Miller is the founder of Branch, a social media company Facebook bought in January. On Tuesday, he addressed the rumors in a series of tweets, writing, "I hope people know the @branch crew wouldn't build a clone of anything. Can't comment on rumors but can't wait to show you what we've built."
