Newsweek magazine’s Twitter account was hacked on Tuesday morning, displaying pro-ISIS messages that were reminiscent of those plastered on CENTCOM’s social media accounts when they were hacked in January.

“We can confirm that Newsweek’s Twitter account was hacked this morning, and have since regained control of the account,” Newsweek said in a statement emailed to NBC News. “We apologize to our readers for anything offensive that might have been sent from our account during that period, and are working to strengthen our newsroom security measures going forward.”

The profile photo on Newsweek’s Twitter page was replaced with an image of a masked figure and the messages “CyberCaliphate” and “Je suIS IS.” Among the tweets posted by the unknown hackers was one that appeared to include a threat against the First Family.
