Dropbox, the cloud storage service, temporarily went down on Friday morning, leaving users unable to access their files.
"This morning from 7:53 a.m. until 8:35 a.m. PT we experienced a site outage during which time the service was not available," the company said in a statement. "Our users’ files were safe during this period. We’ve resolved the issue and apologize for any inconvenience."
The outage appears to have been widespread, although it's not clear how many of the service's more than 200 million users were affected.
According to Dropbox, the service, which lets people store photos, videos and documents online, is used by more than 4 billion businesses worldwide.
This might be the opportune time for Google Drive to point out that it recently dropped its prices. On Thursday, the service announced that it was offering 100 GB of online storage for $1.99 per month, down from $4.99.
