Electronics-savvy Netflix watchers may want to try their hand — or rather, foot — at making these high-tech socks. When you start dozing after one episode too many, the socks send a signal to the TV to pause or stop.
It works by using an accelerometer to monitor your body movements. As soon as you cease to make small shifts and movements as you normally do while watching TV, the socks will light up, and if you continue to lie still, they stop the show.

Sounds useful, right? Be warned, though: this is a serious DIY project. You'll need to provide your own circuit boards, wiring, and of course a soldering gun. But if you're ready and willing, these socks could make a useful accessory for you or a fellow binge-watcher in the family.
