Aereo CEO Slams Supreme Court Decision: 'We Will Continue to Fight'

Aereo CEO Chet Kanojia is incensed over a Supreme Court ruling Wednesday that could potentially kill his company, which lets customers watch broadcast TV over the Internet for $8 a month. In a statement released to press on Wednesday, Kanojia called the decision "a massive setback for the American consumer." The high court ruled in favor of the broadcasters -- including NBC Universal, the parent company of NBC News -- who filed suit claiming Aereo illegally retransmitted their programs. Kanojia reiterated Aereo's belief that its technology is legal, and he characterized the ruling as one that "sends a chilling message to the technology industry." Kanojia didn't say expressly what will happen to Aereo, but he was resolute. "We are disappointed, but our work is not done," he said. "We will continue to fight for our consumers and fight to create innovative technologies that have a meaningful and positive impact on our world."
