The new iPad is available today and you know what that means: iOS developers are rushing to update their apps so that they can take full advantage of the new device's high-resolution display. Here are some of the first ones you'll want to check out.
What should you look out for when you update these apps? Crisper, sharper, cleaner graphics and text.
Since the new iPad's Retina display has a 2048 x 1536 resolution with 264 pixels per inch, you shouldn't be able to differentiate the individual pixels unless you press your nose up to the screen and stare really hard. This means that text will look better than ever in the Kindle app, your skill — or lack thereof — will be shown off more obviously in SketchBook Pro, and game graphics will look even more stunning in Infinity Blade 2.

Don't lose hope if too much time passes before an update appears — it took months before some iPhone apps were updated after the iPhone 4 (and its high-resolution display) became available.
