The new flagship 920 and 820 Windows phones from Nokia won't be coming to T-Mobile, but a special variant called the 810 will be. Differences include an improved camera and a visual overhaul, but for the most part it's the same device.
The lower model number doesn't indicate a less powerful phone: it's got the same 4.3-inch OLED display, 1.5GHz processor, and will also be able to switch out its back shell in case you get tired of the color. The camera has been given a boost, with 8 megapixels instead of 5, and an improved "Skype HD certified" front-facing camera.
Visually, the 810 has been given a more slablike, flat front, with more space at the top for the speaker and logos, and the profile is less rounded in general. It will come in black and cyan, but not the attention-grabbing red and yellow seen on the 820.
It has also been modified to be compatible with T-Mobile's 4G network, and some Nokia navigation apps come pre-loaded. Like the 820, it will ship with Windows Phone 8 installed.
No specific availability was announced, but the phone should be available in the next few weeks, likely at $100 with a two-year contract.
