If you're in purge mode, consider recycling your electronics, video games, DVDs and textbooks at Amazon, where you can get store gift cards in return for sending house clutter to the company.
Gather your items and go to Amazon's Trade-In page and start plugging in the key words to your stuff, then send to Amazon (for free, using labels you print out at home) and within two days of receipt, you'll receive an Amazon gift card for the amount applied to your account.
Trade-In values are all over the place, so you really have to weigh whether it's worth it to part with your precious first season of "Arrested Development" for $1.75 when you paid more like $20 for it. There are other options, like the local flea market, or Swap.com, where this DVD can be traded for one of nearly 55,000 books, DVDs, video games and CDs.
But, I have plenty of other things I could trade-in at Amazon that might be worth it, such as a two-year-old Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS digital camera, which could put up to $75 into my Amazon account.
If you're an Amazon customer and could use some extra cash toward, I don't know, upgraded or newer equipment, or whatever you want at the superstore, this program might be for you.
