The LG Viper, LG's first device to run at 4G LTE speeds on the Sprint Network, is a 5-ounce, punchy smartphone that has the potential to pack a wallop, in that it supports NFC, Google Wallet, HD gaming, apps and video chats.
Powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor with 1 GB of RAM under a 4" WVGA touch screen display, it will run on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and has dual cameras (5MP rear and VGA front).
Like many smartphones, it acts as a mobile hotspot and can support up to 5 other devices to share 3G and 4G LTE simultaneously.
Pre-orders for the $100 device begin April 12 with a new two-year service agreement and $50 mail-in rebate via reward card (excluding taxes and surcharges). Sprint's Everything Data plan includes unlimited Web, texting and calling to other Sprint users, and starts at $80 per month for smartphones.
Google Wallet allows the phone to be really the one thing you never want to lose, as it become a vehicle to make purchases at retailers that use NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.
The Viper also includes 50 GB of free cloud storage and sharing from the Box app. But the phone also comes with a 4 GB card included in a microSD card slot and supports up to 32 GB.
Sprint customers can also download Sprint ID packs "that deliver a predefined experience, including applications, widgets, ringtones and wallpapers, all at once."
