GoPro is the go-to brand for rugged, compact cameras that can be mounted on cars, bikes and helmets, but one disadvantage the devices always had was that there was no room for a screen to let you see what you're shooting. You could use your phone, of course, and there's an LCD "backpack" accessory, but GoPro has just made things a bit simpler with the release of the Hero+ LCD. It's more expensive and capable than the entry-level Hero camera but less so than the nicer Silver model — but the important thing is that screen on the back.
The touchscreen interface will let you frame shots, trim clips on-camera, and change recording settings without having to take out your phone. The Hero+ LCD shoots up to 1080p at 60 frames per second, though it can't do 120 FPS like the Silver. And it's permanently protected by a waterproof housing, so that's one less accessory you'll have to worry about getting.
