Amazon released its Fire Phone just two months ago, but the company is now practically giving it away. As of Monday Amazon is selling the phone for a paltry 99 cents with a two-year contract on AT&T, massively discounted from its $199 launch price. Amazon didn’t specify the reason for the serious slash, but it could be a sign that the Fire Phone -- which includes a 3-D-like screen, and an app called Firefly that scans physical objects and provides links to buy them on Amazon -- is not selling well. Reviews of the Fire Phone were mixed. The price cut also comes one day before Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 6.
