Two victims of the 2009 Fort Hood shooting will attend the State of the Union address Tuesday.

A U.S. Amry official tells NBC News that Retired Army Sergeant Alonzo Lunsford will be the guest of Texas Rep. Roger Williams and Sergeant Matt Cooke will be the guest of North Carolina Rep. Robert Pittenger.

Both congressmen are Republicans.

Lunsford was shot seven times during Army Maj. Nidal Hasan's deadly rampage that killed 13 people and wounded 32 others. Lunsford laid on the ground and played dead as Hasan continued to shoot, before making a break for the door and collapsing outside.

He was resuscitated on the operating table. Lunsford is expected to be in uniform tonight.

Matt Cooke had already done two tours in Iraq and was preparing for his third when he was shot five times by Hasan. He was honorably discharged last year and now lives in Charlotte N.C., which is part of Rep. Pittenger's district.
