FILE JANUARY 15, 2014: A&E reality series, Duck Dynasty premieres its fifth season on January 15, 2014. The fourth season premiere was watched by 11.8 million viewers. However, controversy flared up when Phil Robertson made anti-gay and racist comments in the January 2014 issue of GQ Magazine. On December 18, 2013 A&E announced that Phil Robertson was indefinitely suspended from the show. Bowing to public pressure after counter protests, A&E lifted Robersons suspension on December 27, 2013, although all of the episodes in the upcoming season had been filmed already. It is not yet known how many people tuned in to the new season. "Duck Dynasty" is coming to the State of the Union.

Louisiana Rep. Vance McAllister, R, invited Willie Robertson, a character on the A&E reality show, to be his guest at tonight's annual speech on Capitol Hill.

"I am proud to have my close friend, constituent and small business owner, Willie Robertson, attend tonight's State of the Union Address as my special guest," McAllister said in a statement. "Willie is thankful for this opportunity and honored to attend. I look forward to the two of us representing the Fifth District in DC this evening and bringing some diversity to our nation's capitol."

"Duck Dynasty" has become somewhat of a cause célèbre for conservatives after Phil Robertson, a character on the show who serves as the family patriarch, was suspended for making insensitive comments about gay men in an article for GQ. He was suspended by A&E but reinstated in part due to Republicans rallying behind Robertson.

Willie Robertson is one of Phil's sons.
