EDINBURGH, Scotland - President Barack Obama weighed in on Scotland's independence referendum, saying in a Twitter message that he hopes the U.K. “remains strong, robust and united.”
Those in favor of independence - known as the 'Yes' campaign - argue that the U.S. would gain another international ally in an independent Scotland. In June, Obama appeared to show support for the 'No' campaign when he told reporters on a European trip that he thought the U.K. "had worked pretty well" and should remain united.
