Members of the Murrsyville, Pa., community lined the streets and held up signs early Wednesday so that students headed for Franklin Regional High School could see their support.
Students themselves wore the school colors of blue and gold, and some wrote on social media that they were eager to go back to classes — one week after a fellow student went on a knifing spree that injured 21 students and an adult security guard.
Students returned to normal class schedules, and were greeted by therapy dogs, counselors and district officials.
Four students remain hospitalized. The suspect, 16-year-old sophomore Alex Hribal, is in custody, charged with four counts of attempted homicide and other charges.
