Prosecutors rested their case Tuesday in the murder trial of Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius, who is accused of premeditated murder after shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp during a heated argument on Valentine's Day last year.

When asked whether Pistorius would take the stand, the athlete's attorney Brian Webber said, "I don't think we have a choice. It's a question of when."

He added that Pistorius would likely be the first defense witness.

Earlier Tuesday the court heard that the double-amputee Olympic athlete made a series of phone calls immediately after the shooting.
