Double-amputee Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius sent a message of thanks to his supporters Friday, an hour lawyers concluded their arguments in his murder trial. "Thank you to my loved ones and those that have been there for me, who have picked me up and helped me through everything," he posted on Twitter.

The five-month trial in Pretoria, South Africa was adjourned Friday after two days of closing arguments in which lawyers offered starkly different versions the events on Valentine's Day last year when the South African athlete shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius said he mistakenly shot Steenkamp, thinking there was intruder in his home. The prosecution alleges the Olympic runner intentionally killed her after an argument. Judge Thokozile Masipa said she will deliver her verdict on Sept. 11.
