Oscar Pistorius made several phone calls after fatally shooting his girlfriend, the double-amputee Olympian's murder trial was told on Tuesday.

Pistorius, 27, is accused of premeditated murder after killing model Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day last year. The track star insists that he mistook the law graduate for an intruder when he opened fire on a locked bathroom door.

On Monday, the High Court in Pretoria, South Africa, heard testimony that Steenkamp sent the sprinter text messages saying she was scared of him and that he got jealous when she mentioned past boyfriends.

The trial continues.
