PRETORIA, South Africa -- An iPad found in Oscar Pistorius' home was used to access pornography only hours before the Olympic sprinter fatally shot his girlfriend, a police officer testified on Wednesday.
Col. Mike Sales investigated the Web history on two Apple tablets that were recovered. Sales said he analyzed the activity on one of the devices hours before model Reeva Steenkamp was killed.
Around 6.30 p.m. local time on Feb. 13, according to records shown on TV monitors in court, a search was made on Google for a pornographic website. Then, straight after, a page was accessed that was described with the words "Mobile Porn, Free Mobile Porn, iPhone Porn, Phone Porn, iPad Porn."
Other Internet searches referred to a used car website and details on vehicles including a Ford Ranger SUV, an Aston Martin and a British-made Morgan sports car.
Col. Sales said the searches and website history on the second iPad showed similar records to the first.
Only one day of Web history was found but that included 175 addresses and six bookmarks, according to Col. Sales.
The double-amputee track star is accused of premeditated murder after shooting Steenkamp, a 29-year-old law graduate, early on Feb. 14, 2013. Pistorius maintains he mistook her for an intruder.
The trial continues.
