Oscar Pistorius' defense team condemned the airing of reenactment video, which aired only in Australia on Channel 7 News, showing the paralympian walking across a room without his prosthetic legs and with his hand clenched like he is carrying a gun. Later, he reenacts entering the bathroom — with his prosthetic legs on — retrieving a woman and carrying her down a flight of stairs.
Pistorius' attorney, Brian Webber, alleges in a statement that The Evidence Room, a U.S. company the defense team hired to make the video for trial preparation purposes, illegally sold portions of it to Channel 7 in breach of a non-disclosure contract. "For the family, the airing of this footage constitutes a staggering breach of trust and an invasion of the family’s privacy," Webber said. The Evidence Room did not immediately respond to requests for comment from NBC News. Pistorius claims he killed Steenkamp after mistaking her for an intruder, while the prosecution says he murdered her after an argument. The trial resumes Monday after a three-day break requested by the prosecution.
