ISIS released a video Wednesday praising last week’s Paris terror attacks and urging more violence in Europe and the United States. The latest propaganda video features interviews with three French-speaking jihadists belonging to ISIS, according to Flashpoint Partners, a service that monitors jihadist groups. The men threaten to extend ISIS’s caliphate, or territory, into Europe, and urge the killing of more police officers and “infidels” in the streets.
Three officers were among the victims in the Paris attacks carried out by brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi, who began their terror spree at the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. The publication was known to feature cartoon images of the Prophet Muhammad, inciting Muslims in France and around the world. The brothers were heard yelling, “We have avenged the Prophet Muhammad!” and “God is Greatest!” after the massacre that claimed 12 people, authorities said. The pair died Friday during a police raid north of Paris.
In a video released earlier Wednesday, a leader with al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), based in Yemen, took responsibility for planning and financing the Kouachis’ attack. Before they died, the brothers said they were members of AQAP — considered the most violent branch of al Qaeda.
