Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai — who survived a Taliban attack — said Tuesday she is "heartbroken" by the slaughter of more than 130 children at a school in Pakistan and called on the world to unite against terrorism. In a video address, the 17-year-old girl-power and education activist said she stands with "all those families and all those children who are injured right now and are suffering."
"My family and I heartbroken," she said. "We should stand up together and fight against terrorism and we should make sure every child gets safe and quality education." Malala was nearly killed in October 2012 when a Taliban gunman shot her in the head on a school bus because she had campaigned for education. She now lives in England and last week accepted the Nobel she shared with Indian activist Kailash Satyarthi.
