Malaysia's defense minister promised Wednesday that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 would eventually be found. Speaking aboard the GO Phoenix, a vessel that recently returned to port in Australia after months in the search area, Hishammuddin Hussein promised the efforts would not be in vain. "We ... will one day get to the bottom of this tragedy," he said. "We must continue to hope, for sometimes hope is all we have. We will find MH370."
His statement came as a second ship was preparing to join the hunt for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane which disappeared on March 8 during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. The search has been focused on a remote area of the Indian Ocean about 1,100 miles west of Australia, but not a single piece of plane debris has been found since it vanished. The Discovery, a ship provided by Dutch contractor Fugro, is expected to to arrive in the area Wednesday where it will join the search, the Australian Transport Bureau said in a statement.
