Aviation expert Jim Tilmon described the reports of possible debris in the south Indian Ocean as "the most credible sighting" since the Malaysia Airline jet vanished on March 8.
"I can't imagine how it could be just a false alarm that has very little merit given that it was the [Australian] PM [prime minister] that announced it," the former American Airlines pilot and president and CEO of aviation consulting firm Tilmon Group was quoted as saying by CNBC.
