The 200-strong crew of an Australian navy ship hunting for possible signs of missing flight MH370 is “acutely aware” that families are anxious for news, its commander said Sunday.
“Morale is good” despite the lack of positive sightings of any of the objects spotted by satellites in the remote corner of the southern Indian Ocean, HMAS Success commanding officer Captain Allison Norris said in an Internet audio post by Australian search and rescue officials.
“We are working very closely with AMSA and headquarters joint operation command to ensure we have the most up to date information on the search area,” she said.
“We are also expecting specialist assets from other countries including China and the U.K. and we expect to work very closely with them to co-ordinate the search.”
She added: “The ships’ company are acutely aware that are families of 239 people who were on board that aircraft and we see it as our role to do whatever we can to provide them the answers they deserve.”
