BEIJING - Mistrust between relatives of passengers on missing flight MH370 and Malaysian authorities was still in evidence on Sunday as some families walked out of a briefing in China.

“It’s old talk, nothing new,” said one of the Chinese relatives after leaving the daily briefing at Beijing’s Lido Hotel.

However, there was no repeat of the extraordinary scenes on Saturday when families shouted angrily at officials – including Malaysia’s ambassador to China - and accused them of “delaying, concealing and cheating” over the investigation into the missing Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777.

As the hunt for the missing plane entered its 16th day, there still appeared to no sign of a breakthrough – adding to the anguish and frustration among relatives.

“Do the Malaysians take us for fools?” asked a woman in her 50s who said she was looking after her two grandchildren, aged eight and two, because her daughter was onboard the missing flight.

“I am sure my daughter has been taken hostage, she is still alive,” the woman said, emotionally.
