The pregnant mom charged with attempted murder for driving her minivan into the Florida ocean with three kids inside has been beating herself in the stomach, it was revealed Monday.

Ebony Wilkerson, 32, has been committed to the psychiatric ward twice since her March 4 arrest and is currently hospitalized, NBC station WESH of Orlando reported.

At least one of those times, the woman allegedly beat herself in the stomach, even though she is seven months pregnant, according to the station.

WIlkerson is being held on $1.2 million bond on three counts of attempted murder and three counts of child abuse.

Police say her kids told investigators, "Mom tried to kill us," after they were rescued by good Samaritans who saw the dramatic incident on unfold on Daytona Beach.

Days earlier, Wilkerson told South Carolina police that her husband had raped her. He has denied it and blamed the allegation on a psychotic breakdown.

Her husband "continues to pray for his wife's well being and sincerely hopes that mental health professionals will address her issues," his attorney said in a statement Monday.

The Florida sheriff who charged Wilkerson said he found no sign of mental illness, although her sister had called 911 shortly before the minivan incident to say she was having emotional problems.

Wilkerson is being held in solitary confinement, and her lawyer wants her moved to the general psychiatric ward — but prosecutors object.

A judge is set to rule next week.
