Four men living in London have been charged with plotting terrorism offences and pledging an oath of allegiance to ISIS, police said Friday. The four also stand accused of "hostile reconnaissance" of a police station and an army barracks. Britain has been on heightened security alert since Aug. 29 when the terrorism threat level was raised to “severe” - meaning that an attack is "highly likely.” At that time, Prime Minister David Cameron warned that ISIS poses a "greater and deeper threat to our security than we have known before."
Tarik Hassane, 21, Suhaib Majeed, 20, Nyall Hamlett, 24 and Momen Motasim, 21, all from west London, were charged “with the intention of committing acts of terrorism, or assisting others to commit such acts,” police said Friday. The four are also accused of sourcing guns and ammunition and of possessing a copy of Al Qaeda’s jihadist magazine, “Inspire.” A fifth man, Nathan Cuffy, 25, was charged with firearms offences.
