Jamie Hayes, 16, said he heard about the Fort Hood shooting on Twitter and called his father, who works for the medical brigade.
“He said he can’t talk right now, there’s something serious going on,” Hayes said. “Then I didn’t hear from him for 30 minutes.”
He sent his dad a text: “I just want you to know I love you and please please please make it home safe.’
A short time later he got a text back from his dad saying he was OK, but there’s been no news since.
