SAVE THE CHILDREN

Save the Children, which has been doing extensive work assisting refugees in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq, is now expanding its efforts to assist migrant children. In Greece, Save the Children has set up emergency shelters and is distributing hygiene and baby kits. In Belgrade, the charity has set up mother-baby help centers near the main train and bus stations that serve as refugee gathering points, and plans are underway to set up an "informal" migrant day-camp including a safe space for children to play.

UNHCR

UNHCR is on the ground in Italy, Greece, Serbia, Hungary and Turkey, and other countries in Europe, protecting refugees and providing assistance such as shelter, food, water and medical care to refugees arriving in and traveling to Europe.

UNICEF

UNICEF is helping refugee families along the Serbia - Macedonia border and also along the Greece -Macedonia border, where the number of women and children has tripled over the last three months. UNICEF is providing water, food, counseling, educational materials, and has established safe, protected spaces for children to rest and play. UNICEF is also working both in Syria and in surrounding countries including Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and Egypt to protect children and provide them with lifesaving essentials including food, water & sanitation, medicine and access to education.

THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF RED CROSS AND RED CRESCENT SOCIETIES

The Red Cross and Red Crescent are helping migrants and refugees along the Mediterranean and Western Balkan migratory routes with food, water, clothing, medical care, first aid and psychosocial support. They are also helping to reconnect separated family members.

INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE

The International Rescue Committee has an emergency team on Greek island of Lesbos, helping the migrants with water, sanitation, and protection for women and girls. The IRC has also assisted some of the Syrian refugees already resettled in the United States.

DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS

Doctors Without Borders is providing direct medical services to refugees along land routes including Greece, Macedonia and Hungary, as well as search and rescue operations along sea routes from Libya. Doctors Without Borders also provides medical care in Syria, and to refugees in Jordan and Lebanon.

WORLD FOOD PROGRAM

The World Food Program is the largest humanitarian agency fighting global hunger and reaches more than 4 million people inside Syria with food, and provides food vouchers to 1.5 million refugees in Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon.
