The wife of Bill Cosby said in a recent deposition has not read her husband’s 2005 deposition in which the embattled comedian admitted to obtaining Quaaludes he planned to give to women he wanted to have sex with, according to court documents.

Camille Cosby said she did discuss the deposition with her husband, according to testimony released Monday regarding a defamation lawsuit against Bill Cosby. She would not describe that conversation, citing marital privilege.

Camille Cosby gave the deposition in late February as part of a defamation suit filed by Tamara Green and others who have accused Bill Cosby of misconduct. Cosby has counter-sued Green and the other women for defamation.

The 2005 deposition from Bill Cosby in which Quaaludes came up was from a civil suit filed by Andrea Constand, who accused Cosby of drugging and molesting her in 2004. Constand is not involved in the Green defamation suit.

In that 2005 deposition, Cosby admitted to obtaining Quaaludes to give to women he wanted to have sex with, but denied giving the drug to anyone without their knowledge.

The February Camille Cosby deposition transcripts were released Monday as Bill Cosby’s attorneys try to halt the discovery phase in the defamation suit, arguing that it could be used in a criminal case against him.

The criminal sexual assault case involves the complaint made by Constand. Cosby’s attorneys have said he is innocent.

Cosby and his attorneys have repeatedly denied claims by dozens of women who accused the comedian of misconduct dating back to the 1980s.
