Amtrak's Northeast Corridor was back open Monday after the derailment last week that killed eight people and injured about 200 others.

The Federal Railroad Administration said Amtrak had "satisfactorily met our terms to prevent overspeeding at the site of the derailment" after federal safety investigators determined that Amtrak Northeast Regional Train 188 was speeding at more than 100 mph when it derailed Tuesday night — more than double the speed limit.

Amtrak has begun an analysis of all curves along the corridor and has begun work to determine whether more speed limit signs are needed, the agency said.

Brandon Bostian, the train's engineer, was interviewed by federal investigators but has said he doesn't remember what happened.
