The head of the U.S. Olympic Committee repeated Sunday that the ordeal isn't over for the four U.S swimmers who claimed they were victims of an armed robbery in Rio.

USOC Chief Executive Scott Blackmun again apologized to organizers of the Rio Olympics, saying the swimmers — Ryan Lochte, Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and Jimmy Feigen — "really let down our hosts in Rio, who did such a wonderful job, and we feel very badly about that."

The USOC said in a statement last week that it planned to "further review the matter, and any potential consequences for the athletes, when we return to the United States."

Blackmun wouldn't go into any details about those consequences Sunday, but he again stressed that "we are going to have further action in this."

Rio police refuted the swimmers' story last week, citing surveillance video and witness testimony that indicated that they had vandalized a gas station restroom and then paid security guards pay for the damage.

Lochte took "full responsibility" Saturday for the incident in Rio, telling NBC News that he "over-exaggerated that story."
