Pep Guardiola has issued a response and a promise to Manchester City fans after the club was found guilty of “serious breaches” of financial rules.
Guardiola, 55, joined City in 2016 and led the club to a historic run of success as they won six Premier League titles and a Champions League crown, highlighted by four-straight domestic titles and a treble.
The charges against City ran from 2009-2018 and Guardiola was a vociferous backer of his club’s innocence, echoing the higher-ups at the club. City’s most recent statement says they were “disappointed and surprised by the opinion of the Premier League Commission” and maintains there is “irrefutable evidence” of their position.
Guardiola continuing to show solidarity with everyone at City as opponents are out en masse to criticize the club and question his legacy.
