The 2025 People’s Sexiest Man Alive is one wickedly good-looking guy.
During the Nov. 3 episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Jonathan Bailey was announced as the magazine’s sexiest man alive for this year.
The “Wicked” franchise star made an appearance during the late-night talk show, where both his covers were revealed.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime,” Bailey told host Jimmy Fallon, signing his copy of the magazine.
“Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy,” Fallon said, to which Bailey rejoiced by saying, “Every time I come here, it’s always something.”
Bailey, who joins a long list of People’s Sexiest Man Alive alum, said he found out about earlier this year when he was doing a production of Shakespeare’s “Richard III” overseas.
“In 2025, I’m sort of thrilled that People magazine have invited someone in, to bestow this honor on someone who can really cherish the value of a sexy man,” he said.
Bailey also spoke about having his adorable dog Benson on one of the covers with him, saying, “He’s such a good boy.”
Bailey has captured hearts as Lord Anthony Bridgerton in Netflix’ period drama “Bridgerton.” He’s also starred in “Jurassic World: Rebirth,” as well as “Fellow Travelers.”
Most recently, he’s embodied the dashing and swoon-worthy Fiyero in “Wicked” and the upcoming sequel “Wicked: For Good,” out Nov. 21.
During his interview, he also joked that he “f------ hopes” people treat him differently now that he’s this year’s sexiest man.
Bailey takes over the title from John Krasinski, who was crowned the magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2024.
The “Office” star-turned-action hero told People he thought perhaps he was being “punked” when he heard about the honor.
“That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me,” he said.
Krasinski added that when his movie star wife, Emily Blunt, learned he had been named Sexiest Man Alive, she suggested they cover their home in wallpaper of his People cover.
People has been choosing its Sexiest Man Alive since 1985 when Mel Gibson became the first in a long line of famous celebs from all walks of life to win the honor.
Bailey and Krasinski follow in the footsteps of several other Hollywood actors who have been named the sexiest man in recent years, including former “Grey’s Anatomy” star Patrick Dempsey, who won the title in 2023, Marvel Cinematic Universe star Chris Evans, who won in 2022, and Paul Rudd, who was crowned in 2021.
Ahead of Bailey’s big reveal, a slew of past winners took part in a video where they “passed the phone” off to other cover stars. Dempsey kicked off the clip followed by Blake Shelton, John Legend, Harry Hamlin, Idris Elba and many others.
