Iconic rockstar Jon Bon Jovi, 63, has a new little lady that will be in his life “forever”: his first grandchild.
“Immediately you fall in love,” the proud grandfather told TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie in an exclusive interview. “You know, when we met Jake and Millie’s daughter, it was just immediate. You’re like, ‘That’s my granddaughter.’”
The singer’s son, Jake Bongiovi, and his wife, “Stranger Things” actress Millie Bobby Brown, announced on Aug. 21 that they had adopted a baby.
It may be a coincidence (or not!) but Bon Jovi happens to share his chosen grandfather name with one of the characters on his daughter-in-law’s hit show: Papa!
“She won’t be able to walk for at least 10 or 12 years because Papa will be carrying her everywhere she goes,” Bon Jovi laughed.
“Get those little baby headsets so she can come to the tour!” Savannah said, referring to Bon Jovi’s “Forever” tour that kicks off next summer at Madison Square Garden.
“Yeah,” he said. “I count on that.”
Proud parents Bongiovi and Brown posted a life update on Instagram on Oct. 9 that featured a brief appearance from the newborn.
Among the carousel of photos Brown uploaded was an adorable picture of the actor and her husband touching foreheads as they seemingly held their baby girl. Their daughter’s tiny baby foot could be spotted in the snap.
Bon Jovi previously spoke with Bunny XO about his new role during an interview on her “Dumb Blonde” podcast.
“I want to see pictures like every other day. I’m that pain-in-the-butt guy already, so it’s cool,” he said.
He also mentioned that his son Jesse and his wife are also about to welcome a baby, “so suddenly it’s a shift again.”
Bon Jovi shares his four children — Stephanie, Jesse, Jake and Romeo — with his wife and high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley. The couple has lived in New Jersey for most of their lives.
In an interview with Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist, Bon Jovi said, “I’ve never not been grateful. This is all pixie dust at the end. What have I got? I’ve got a wife and family that love me. I’ve got a band that believes in me. I’ve had a good life.”
