Los Angeles police detectives are investigating pop superstar Justin Bieber in connection with an incident Monday in which he allegedly tried to take the camera from someone who was photographing him in a San Fernando Valley arcade.

The attempted robbery, which would be taking of property by means of force or fear, allegedly took place at 10:30 p.m. Monday but was reported to police Tuesday afternoon, according to LAPD Spokeswoman Rosie Herrera.

The incident in Sherman Oaks is the latest in a series of troubles involving the singer, including allegations of reckless driving on Los Angeles-area freeways and inside his own gated community, alleged drug possession, egging his neighbor's house and attacking a paparazzo.

Herrera said Bieber has not yet been arrested or interviewed by detectives in connection with the incident.

The victim, who was not identified by police, alleges that Bieber became enraged when pictures were being taken in the arcade adjacent to a miniature golf course at the intersection of the 405 and 101 freeways in Sherman Oaks, an affluent neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.

The LAPD did not provide specific details but said there was an attempt by the singer to take the camera.

The department's Robbery-Homicide Division, which typically investigates celebrity and high-profile cases, was called in to investigate after an initial incident report was taken by divisional detectives.
