Child actor Sawyer Sweeten — whom Americans watched grow up on the hit TV show "Everybody Loves Raymond" — has committed suicide, his sister said in a statement.
Madylin Sweeten said she was "devastated" to report that "our beloved brother, son, and friend" Sawyer Sweeten had taken his own life.
"This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred," Madylin Sweeten said in a statement via the manager she shared with her brother, Dino May. "He was weeks away from his 20th birthday. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love."
Sweeten and his twin brother began appearing as toddlers Geoffrey and Michael Barone on the hit show starring Ray Romano when they were under two years old, according to IMDb. Madylin Sweeten also appeared on the show as their sister Ally Barone.
"Everybody Loves Raymond" ran from 1996-2005 on CBS.
