The public battle between the family of Bobbi Kristina Brown and her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, continued Saturday with Gordon again claiming he is being prevented from visiting the hospitalized daughter of late pop diva Whitney Houston, and her father ripping that claim.
"Let me be very clear, Mr. Gordon was offered an opportunity to potentially visit Bobbi Kristina and he declined to meet the terms of any possible visit," Brown’s father, R&B singer Bobby Brown, said in a statement released through his lawyers Saturday.
"Obviously Mr. Gordon is not as desperate to visit Bobbi Kristina as he wants the world to believe,” he said.
Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, is in a medically induced coma at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home on Jan. 31.
Saturday, Gordon said in a pair of Twitter posts that he believes if he is allowed to speak to Bobbi Kristina Brown in the hospital and play her favorite music, it would help in her recovery. "She will wake up," he said. Gordon’s attorneys have said Gordon has stayed away from the hospital at her family's wishes. Gordon was in the home with Bobbi Kristina Brown when she was found unresponsive.
"Bobby Brown has consistently prohibited Nick, who Bobbi Kristina would want by her side, from being there," Gordon's attorneys said in a statement released Sunday. "In an effort to do all he can to visit, Nick has repeatedly offered to meet with Mr. Brown privately to discuss his request in person, rather than through lawyers. Those offers have also been rejected. We hope Mr. Brown has a change of heart."
Gordon was taken in by Houston at the age of 12 but was never formally adopted. After Houston's death in February 2012, Gordon and Bobbi Kristina went public with their romance and they were allegedly engaged that October. Bobby Brown has insisted the two are not married.
