Press secretary Karoline Leavitt will work for President Donald Trump’s super PAC MAGA Inc. after she leaves her post at the White House, she said Friday.

Leavitt, 28, told reporters aboard Air Force One that she will return to work for the super PAC, for which she served as a spokesperson before joining Trump’s 2024 campaign, though she did not specify what her new title will be.

MAGA Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Leavitt’s new role.

Speaking briefly in the press cabin before takeoff, Leavitt told reporters that she will miss the job “but I love my kids even more.” Leavitt added that she and her family will remain in Washington for a while, telling reporters, “You guys will still see me all the time.”

She told reporters that Friday’s flight to South Carolina for a rally supporting Sen. Darline Graham will be her last trip as press secretary, but that she’ll be back on board for the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention scheduled for Sept. 9 and 10.

Leavitt, who became the youngest press secretary in history when she joined the second Trump administration, announced her departure from the White House on Aug. 12.

Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that day that Leavitt was stepping down to “spend more time with her beautiful young children and family.”

The president added that Leavitt “will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.”

Leavitt, who gave birth to her second child in May and returned from maternity leave on July 16, wrote in her own post on Aug. 12 that she “felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary.”

Leavitt worked as an assistant White House press secretary during Trump’s first term before she became the communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y.

Leavitt then ran for Congress in New Hampshire, losing to Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in 2022. She subsequently began working as a spokesperson for MAGA Inc.

After joining Trump’s 2024 campaign, Leavitt gave birth to her first child and returned to work just four days into her maternity leave in the wake of the assassination attempt against Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

As Leavitt leaves her role after 18 months on the job, she will become the second-longest-serving press secretary under Trump after now-Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who served in the role for almost two years during Trump’s first term.
