NASHUA, NH -- Despite speculation about his possible presidential ambitions, Vice President Joe Biden stressed Tuesday that his visit to the first-in-the-nation primary state had nothing to do with his political future.
"I'm here about jobs, not mine,” Biden said, brushing off a question about running for president while touring a business in Manchester, NH.
Speaking inside NH Works, a facility that offers employment and training services to job-seekers, the vice president applauded the state’s efforts to aid the unemployed.
"The reason we are here, notwithstanding what others may think, is a simple proposition," he said, addressing New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan, who was in attendance. "You run the best outfit in the country …We are here because we are trying to replicate what you are doing here so well."
While Biden has not announced his plans for 2016 yet, any visit to the Granite State by a possible presidential candidate draws attention. He also made an appearance in the first-in-the-nation caucus state of Iowa in September.
