The top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee is slamming critics who say the panel's report on Benghazi assigns blame for the attacks to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The day after her panel released a lengthy review of the Benghazi attacks, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said in a statement that some Republicans "intimate that the report assigns culpability to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the tragedy."

"This is patently false," she said.

Feinstein noted that Clinton's name is not even mentioned in the 58 pages of recommendations and findings that members of both sides of the intelligence panel signed.

"I want the record to be clear: I condemn any effort to use this report for political purposes," she said.
