Chris Christie has had enough.
“While I’m as entertained as anyone by this personal back and forth about the history of Donald and Carly’s career, for the 55-year-old construction worker who doesn’t have a job, who doesn’t have money to fund his child’s education, I gotta tell you the truth. They could care less about your careers. They care about theirs,” Christie said.
The comments from the New Jersey governor came after Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina sparred over their business careers during the second Republican presidential debate.
Christie limped into Wednesday’s debate with a campaign that has struggled to catch fire. His debate strategy has focused on reaching beyond one-on-one battles and instead attempted to appeal to the middle class. During his opening remarks he asked the camera to focus not on him, but the audience, asking the crowd if they felt their families were better off under President Barack Obama.
