The Food and Drug Administration has approved an emergency overdose treatment for at-home use called Evzio. It works like an EpiPen to revive someone who stopped breathing because of an opioid or heroin overdose. Opponents of the device warn it may give addicts a false sense of security. More than 16,600 died of opioid overdoses in 2010.
