Periodically, the military conducts tours of the camps at Guantanamo Bay where detainees who were captured on the battlefields of Afghanistan are held. Many of them have been behind the barbed wire for a decade. So far, 779 detainees have come through the gates since it opened in 2002, but the current population is down to 149.

The men come from different countries. They practice religion in different ways. Some even watch sporting events like the World Cup together. Below, NBC News' Shawna Thomas reports from inside the camps where they live.
