In a couple of months, it will have been nine years since Katrina made landfall in Louisiana. In a recent conversation with Tom Brokaw, "NBC Nightly News" anchor and managing editor Brian Williams -- who has reported from the region multiple times -- described the impact today's social media might have had on Katrina, and what it's like to look at footage from that day.
"It makes me angry to watch it all over again," Williams said. "The fact that these people didn't qualify somehow for our help just enraged me at the time –- it still gets to me."
Had Twitter existed and been as widely used as it is today, he says, "maybe the government would have been more responsive."
