There are not a lot of things in this world that stand the test of time – maybe a good bottle of wine, or a classic Ford Mustang. The same is absolutely true for cinema.
Everyone seems to remember howling in their seats 25 years ago watching the dynamic chemistry between actors Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan in the love story “When Harry Met Sally.”
The 1989 hit written by Nora Ephron and directed by Rob Reiner remains a fan favorite to this day. And Crystal, whom we interviewed for Friday’s story, says the film is handed down from generation to generation because of its everlasting "boy meets girl…boy and girl fall in love” tale. Thing is, love is so much more complicated than that. And Ryan and Crystal release a series of memorable jabs and one-liners that have audiences falling in love with them even more.
Oh, did I leave out the “O” scene filmed in New York’s Katz Deli?
People still flock to the table where Ryan’s outbursts floored moviegoers everywhere. Some even simulate her stimulation!
As for Crystal? He said he loved each and every one of the 60 or 70 takes it took to get the scene down just right.
