Police on Sunday were trying to determine the identities of a woman and three children whose bodies were found at a rural ranch resort in Bourbon, Mo.
A handgun was found next to the bodies and the local sheriff said it appeared to be murder-suicide, NBC affiliate KSDK TV reported.
Officials are not looking for any suspects, Crawford County Sheriff Randy Martin added. "We're not looking for anybody at this time," he said.
"We don't know for sure," Martin said when asked if it seemed the woman had killed the children and then herself, "but it kind of appears it could be that way."
The bodies were found at Blue Springs Ranch, a resort with campsites and cabins about 80 miles southwest of St. Louis.
