TODAY's Facebook page received a nice upgrade at the end of the month -- but the old design didn't stop some of the previous four weeks of content from going viral.

Our fans loved stories about pop stars spending time with sick children, a father's shotgun surprise and Obama belting out the blues. And the tragic death of Whitney Houston shocked everyone.

Here are the top 10 stories our more than 820,000 fans on Facebook buzzed about in February.

The list is measured by the "Talking About This" metric on Facebook, which adds in the number of people who liked, commented, shared or responded to a question.

The top 10:

1) Whitney Houston passes away
The unexpected news that Whitney Houston died sent ripples across the United States. Fans flooded TODAY's Facebook page to leave their remembrances. They also reacted strongly to Jennifer Hudson's tribute to Houston days later at the Grammys. 

2) 6-year-old girl with cancer gets date with Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber surprised a cancer patient affectionately known as “Mrs. Bieber" after an online campaign.

3) Debate swirls if Houston deserves N.J. flag honor
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ordered U.S. and state flags flown at half-staff after her death. Many argued that due to Houston's public struggles with drugs, such an honor was not deserved. 

4) Dad punishes Facebook post with 8 bullets to daughter's laptop
A video purporting to be the work of an angry father teaching his daughter a lesson by shooting bullets through her laptop became a viral video of the day. 

5) Octavia Spencer: I want to be ‘sexy in my own eyes’
Actress Octavia Spencer has big plans following her best supporting actress win on Oscar night, and they have nothing to do with the typical post-win boost some stars see. 

6) Last known WWI veteran Florence Green dies at 110
Florence Green never saw the front line. But Green, who died at age 110, was the last known surviving veteran of World War I. She was serving with the Women's Royal Air Force as a waitress at an air base.

7) Obama belts out the blues
President Obama took to the microphone again, this time to belt out "Sweet Home Chicago" with B.B. King, Mick Jagger and Buddy Guy.

9) Cat named Pudding rescues owner hours after his adoption
Pudding the cat is big. He is orange. He is laid-back. And he’s a lifesaver. Just ask the 36-year-old woman who credits 21-pound Pudding with saving her from the grip of diabetic seizure the day she brought him home.

9) Taylor Swift invites ill teen to CMA show
Singer Taylor swift had to turn down Kevin McGuire’s Facebook invite to his prom, but the teenager battling cancer for a second time is just as happy with his consolation prize; he’ll be accompanying Swift to the Academy of Country Music Awards show.

10) Donnie Deutsch: "Women are better than men at everything"
During a discussion with TODAY's Professionals about a new study finding that women are better at parking than men, Donnie Deutsch looked straight into the camera and said the words that roughly half the population have been waiting to hear their whole lives: "Women are better than men at everything."
