Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* Labor's SEIU is getting increasingly engaged on immigration, launching this new ad calling for comprehensive reform and a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants already in the U.S. It's part of a $300,000 buy, set to run on cable stations nationwide (via Laura Clawson).
* The Republican Senate primary in Georgia got a little more interesting this morning, with Rep. Phil Gingrey jumping into the race. Republican Rep. Paul Broun kicked off his campaign several weeks ago, and Republican Rep. Tom Price may soon do the same.
* With about seven months remaining in Virginia's gubernatorial race, a new Quinnipiac poll shows state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli narrowly leading former DNC Chair Terry McAuliffe, 40% to 38%. It's the first statewide poll since Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling announced he wouldn't run as an independent.
* In Iowa, Rep. Steve King (R) has not yet formally said whether he'll run for the Senate, but his comments to the Des Moines Register don't leave any doubts about his plans: "I have never wanted to be the guy who looked back and said, 'Woulda, coulda, shoulda....'"
* Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean (D) is launching a new political action committee -- Democracy for America's "Purple to Blue Project" -- focused on improving Democratic numbers in state legislatures.
* Sen. Bob Menendez's (D) political standing is improving in New Jersey now that the prostitution allegations against him have completely unraveled.
* And in South Carolina's congressional special election, failed Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has thrown his support to Curtis Bostic, who'll face former Gov. Mark Sanford in a primary next week. Santorum will be in the district today in the hopes of giving Bostic a boost.
